Stephen King’s influence on the horror genre is undeniable, and ‘Doctor Sleep’ is a testament to that. Ewan McGregor stars as the adult Danny Torrance as he attempts to put a stop to a cult of semi-immortals led by Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) who get their strength from the lives and shinings of children. There is one particular scene that is incredibly disturbing and really emphasizes the evil nature of this cult. ‘Doctor Sleep’ is a lengthy, but well-paced movie that has some genuinely scary moments. While McGregor and Ferguson did a great job, Kyliegh Curran’s portrayal of Abra Stone was the standout performance. It may not be the best King adaptation, but it is still a great representation of what is possible with a new generation of thrillers based on the author’s classic novels.

La influencia de Stephen King en el género de terror es innegable, y ‘Doctor Sueño’ es un testimonio de ello. Ewan McGregor interpreta al adulto Danny Torrance mientras intenta poner fin a un culto de semiinmortales dirigido por Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) que obtienen su fuerza de la vida y el brillo de los niños.
