I love food but hate fine dining's pretense. Mark Mylod's "The Menu" satirizes it, with Ralph Fiennes as chef Julian Slowik. Nicholas Hoult, Anya Taylor-Joy, and others play the diners. It has a thin plot but compelling commentary and performances. Fiennes and Taylor-Joy are great, and Hoult shines as the insincere Tyler. The horror and black comedy add tension, making it a unique and darkly humorous treat.
