Despite its apparent difficulty in adapting, Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time was bravely taken on by director Ava DuVernay with a star-studded cast, including Oprah Winfrey. Storm Reid, Levi Miller, and Deric McCabe give stand-out performances, and the movie is visually vibrant and filled with joy in its more colorful moments. Unfortunately, the ambition isn’t matched by execution, as the movie falls short due to thin plot and awkward CGI. Despite the heavy-handed messages throughout the movie and the occasionally tacky soundtrack, the movie is a step in the right direction with its inclusive focus and female directorship, and is worth watching for its standout performances from the young cast.

A pesar de su aparente dificultad para adaptarse, la directora Ava DuVernay asumió valientemente A Wrinkle in Time de Disney con un elenco repleto de estrellas, incluida Oprah Winfrey.
